Gen-Impact India Awards: Custom Website Development

We designed and hand-coded the official website for the Gen-Impact India Awards, a national programme recognising student-led sustainability and impact projects. The site explains the awards, judging and eligibility, and takes complete applications online.

01 The Challenge

What the client needed

The programme had to launch fast for a fixed window (applications 6 September to 15 October 2026) and serve three very different visitors.

  • Students needed to understand categories, rules and scoring before applying.
  • Schools and principals needed a way to nominate their institution or book a coordinator call.
  • Organisers needed complete, structured entries with evidence and a mentor recommendation, not scattered emails.
  • A template would not fit the custom judging rubric, multi-step application and weekly recognition model.
02 Our Solution

What we built

  1. Single-page journey with sticky navigation. About, Awards, Eligibility, Timeline, Recognition and Start submission are one click away, with smooth anchor scrolling.
  2. Hero with key facts. Application dates, "No entry fees" and "All boards, Pan India" sit on the first screen beside the main CTA.
  3. Awards and six impact tracks. Three award titles and six tracks (Community Impact, Planet Action, Awareness & Advocacy, Innovation for Good, Systems Change, Collective Impact), each with custom illustration and judging focus.
  4. Transparent scoring. An expandable 100-point breakdown and a rubric table show exactly how entries are judged, which raises the quality of submissions.
  5. Interactive eligibility. Visitors pick their academic level (High School or Undergraduate) to see the rules and award path for them.
  6. Award roadmap. A visual timeline from application to jury review to the national ceremony.
  7. Weekly recognition. Project of the Week and badge sections, plus a separate Hall of Fame page, keep the site fresh during the application window.
  8. Three-in-one application module. One form area switches between Submit a project, Nominate an institution and Request a coordinator call.
  9. Structured project submission. Division and track dropdowns, lead applicant and team, institution and board, project summary, measurable impact, media links, file uploads (up to 5 files, 10MB each), mentor details and consent, all with required-field validation.
  10. Sharing and contact. WhatsApp, Facebook, X, email and copy-link sharing, plus a contact desk and social links in the footer.

Polish throughout: branded loading screen, responsive mobile layout, optimised images and SEO meta tags.
